LaneHawk is simple. A smart camera is flush-mounted in the checkout lane. This camera continuously watches for items on your LaneHawk List using our patented object recognition technology. When an item is recognized, its UPC information is passed to the
POS. The cashier verifies the quantity of items that were found under the basket and continues to close the transaction. The item stays under the basket, and using LaneHawk, you are assured to get paid for it.
A. Your cashiers do not have to lift the BOB items, increasing productivity.
B. LaneHawk is installed flush-mounted and watches every cart go by.
LaneHawk consists of a processing unit, a camera, a cable and mounting pieces. These components are designed to withstand constant use in enclosed areas where temperatures are not controlled. As well, the components mount on the inside of the cabinetry so they do not interrupt customer throughput.
The system is compatible with any POS system that has an available bar code scanner input. We have enhanced POS interfaces for the IBM 46xx system, 367 or higher. In order to use the automated updating functionality, there needs to be a LAN connection between the checkout stand and the location where the update computer is located.
LaneHawk catches items in your LaneHawk List with greater than 95% accuracy and less than 1% false-positive rate.
LaneHawk is extremely accurate because the system is trained on the items that you determine it should recognize. These items are stored as picture files with UPC information in your LaneHawk List. Your LaneHawk List can be managed by you, your VAR or Evolution Robotics. And it only needs to contain items that are likely to be
placed under the cart, such as large or heavy products.
- Increased Revenue
Ensure you get paid for the items that are leaving your store under the cart
- Deterrence
Avoid collusion or 'sweet hearting'; if there are items under the cart, LaneHawk can see them
- Increased Check-out Lane Productivity
Customers and clerks don't have to load BOB items onto the conveyer belt
- Accountability
Tracks items to hold your cashiers accountable, and enable you to quantify your BOB impact with actual data
- Enforcing Cashier Behavior
Product design automatically rings up items under the cart and requires the cashier to confirm quantity - cashier is no longer part of the decision process of whether or not to ring up an item
LaneHawk is designed to have a <12 month payback. A pilot installation is your first step. This can be done in 1-2 stores or a lab/store combination for as few as 30 days. We develop success metrics together to be sure the solution meets your needs. Following the pilot program, a corporate-wide roll-out can happen quickly and effectively.
